Tuesday

This week at Shepparton Golf Club the competition play got under way with 69 players in the David Faram Stableford Medley competition and tight contests in both grades. A Grade saw a well earnt win go to Alan Tomkins with 41 points on a count back to runner up Jeremy Rath. In B Grade Frank D’Arma took out the win with 39 points on a count back to runner up Derek Asher. Ball placegetters required 36 points on a count back or better for a prize while the nearest to pin on hole 12 went to Greg Burness with 460cms.

Wednesday

Wednesday saw 53 women in the Free Agency-Tim Arnold & Choices Flooring Shepparton Stableford competition. In A Grade Julie Cobbledick had a table topping win with 41 points from runner up Lynley Eadie with 38 points. B Grade saw a emphatic win go to Jo Foster with 40 points from runner up Donna Trickey with 38 points. Ball placegetters required 35 points or better for a prize while the nearest to pin for hole 2 A Grade Pro Pin went to Fiona Hand with 248cms, B Grade Pro Pin was taken out by Jane O’Reilly with 730cms and hole 12 went to Veronica Minogue with 150cms. In the women’s 9-hole Stableford competition the win was taken out by Carolyn Scott with 19 points from runner up Faye Goodman with 17 points on a count back to Judy Holland.

Thursday

Thursday saw a good group of 106 players for the Pickles Auctions Stableford Medley competition. In A Grade Mark Jones claimed the win with 37 points on a count back to runner up Mark O’Meara. B Grade win went to John O’Sullivan with 39 points from runner up Phillip Morris with 37 points. In C Grade we had a great top of the table score of 45 points go to Anthony Cloney from runner up Mark Doyle with 41 points. Ball placegetters required 35 points on a count back or better for a prize while in the nearest to pin on hole 12 Greg Coghlan not only claimed the hole but also B Grade pro pin with 125cms, BA Grade Pro pin went to Vincent Chan with 184cms, C Grade Pro Pin went to Colin Burney with 236cms and hole 17 went to Alan Tomkins with 101cms. Thursday also saw the end to the men’s KFC Chicken Run with Steve Tonks taking the win with 22 points on a count back to runner up Michael Kelly. Ball placegetters required 20 points on a count back or better to claim a prize.

Friday

Friday saw 25 women hit off in the KFC Chicken Run with the win going to Jennifer Tomkins with 22 points from runner up Jane O’Reilly with 21 points. Ball placegetters required 19 points or better to claim a prize and the nearest to pin on hole 12 went to Marcia Waters with 200cms.

Saturday

On Saturday we saw 170 players for the days men’s and women Will Print 4BBB Par competition which incorporated the Qualifying rounds for the men’s GMCU Shepparton Fourball Honour Board Event. In the women’s competition the win went to the team of sisters Claire Hardwick & Vivien New with +7 on a count back to the runner up team of Julie Harris & Norma Pollock, Anne Pegg & Theresa Murray and Teena Hicks & Paula Ryan. The men’s competition went to Dale Thomas & Blake Knaggs with +12 from runner up team of Wes Hanekom & Dale Skinner with +10. Ball placegetters in the women’s competition required +7 on a count back or better while in the men’s competition they required +8 or better. Nearest to pins on hole 2 went to Michael Loughhead with a oh so close 18cms, hole 5 and the B Grade Pro Pin went to Dean Toy with another very close 37cms, A Grade Pro Pin went to Peter Cardamone with 285cms, C Grade Pro Pin went to Jonathon Cook with 237cms, Jeremy Rath claimed hole 12 with 150cms and hole 17 was taken out by Daniel Schaper with 228cms.

Sunday

Sunday’s Stableford Medley competition saw 37 players take to the fairways with a very tight contest being had and eventually the win going to Liam Coghlan with 39 points on a count back to runner up Mitchell Younger and 3rd placed Lachlan Findlay. Placegetters required 34 points or better for a prize.

Upcoming Events

To the week ahead we see the women take to the course with a 3 Ball Aggregate competition to for their President Day followed in the afternoon with the men’s Chicken Run , Thursday we have a 4BBB Stableford Medley competition and in the afternoon we have our men’s Overflow for their Chicken Run, Friday the women play their Chicken Run and the afternoon we see the Wilson Golf’s Launch Event, Saturday sees a Stroke competition with the Monthly Medal up for grabs, Sunday we have a Stableford Medley and not to forget our weekly 9 hole competition.
