Tuesday

This week at the Shepparton Golf Club the heat didn’t stop some great competition starting with 41 players in Tuesday’s Choices Flooring Shepparton Stableford Medley competition. In A Grade we saw a close contest with Kyle Clarke taking the win with 38 points on a count back to runner up Kevin Boote. B Grade saw Kevin Usher with a good win on 38 points from runner up Colin Burney with 36 points on a count back to Shane O’Sullivan. Ball placegetters required 35 points on a count back or better for a prize while the nearest to pin on hole 12 went to Ken Baxter with 246cms.

Wednesday

Wednesday saw 39 women take the fairways for the Free Agency-Tim Arnold & Choices Flooring Shepparton Par competition. In A Grade we saw a well-deserved win go to Anne Pegg with +5 from runner up Karen Shannon with +5. B Grade saw another strong performance by Adele Ormsby with a ladder board topping win with +7 from runner up Jo Foster with +4. Ball placegetters required 0 on a count back or better for a prize while in the nearest to pins Karen Shannon took out A Grade Pro Pin on hole 2 with 220cms, B Grade Pro Pin went to Jo Foster with 203cms, and Adele Baensch was successful on hole 12 with 550cms. In the women’s 9-hole Stableford competition a tight battle ensued with Kaye Hillis taking the win with 21 points on a count back to runner up Lee Curley.

Thursday

Thursday saw 75 players hit off in the D&S Brown Stableford Medley competition. A Grade saw a close competition with two talented juniors battling it out for the win with Noah Sabri prevailing with 38 points on a count back to runner up Isaac Lacey and Steve Tonks. B Grade saw Kevin Usher have a big win with 47 points from runner up Barry Kruse with 37 points on a count back to Leigh Gould. Ball placegetters required 36 points on a count back or better to claim a prize while in the nearest to pins hole 12 and a Grade Pro Pin went to Andrew Strange with 478cms, C Grade Pro Pin went to Michael Edwards with 946cms, B Grade Pro Pin was not claimed so it will jackpot to next week and hole 17 went to Isaac Lacey with 245cms. Thursday also saw the completion of the men’s KFC Chicken Run with 90 players over the 2 days. Jamahl Clarke claimed the win with 23 points on a count back to runner up Mark Barbary. Ball placegetters required 19 points on a count back or better for a prize.

Friday

48 players ventured out for the women’s KFC Chicken Run with Jo Rathjen claiming the win with 21 points from runner up Adele Ormsby with 20 points on a count back to Marcia Waters and Lorraine Ford. Ball placegetters required 19 points on a count back or better for a prize while the nearest to pin on hole 2 went to Adele Ormsby with 412cms.

Saturday

Saturday saw 150 players for the days Titleist Stableford competition. In the women’s competition Adele Baensch continued some good form to take the win with 37 points on a count back to runner up Jacinta Harrington. A Grade men’s competition win went to Tim James with 42 points from runner up James Faram with 40 points. Greg Bennett claimed B Grade with a top of the table win with 43 points from runner up David D’Elia with 40 points on a count back to Ben Sibio. In C Grade Erwyn Tolentino secured a well-earnt win with 41 points from runner up Jay Christenson with 40 points on a count back to Derek Asher. Ball Placegetters in the women required 35 points on a count back or better for a prize while the men required 37 points on a count back or better to claim a prize. In the nearest to pin on hole 2 Lloyd Cowling was successful with 240cms, hole 5 and A Grad Pro Pin went to Andrew Lacey with 241cms, B Grade Pro pin went to Jack Henry with 481cms, C Grade Pro Pin was taken out by Dianne McMinn with 1712cms, Darryl O’Neill took out hole 12 with 77cms and hole 17 went to Tim James with 102cms.

Sunday

Sundays Stableford Medley saw 57 players take to the course with the A Grade win going to Declan Newbound with 40 points from runner up Brett Barnes with 37 points on a count back to 3rd placed Trav Wayman. B Grade saw Sam Mckenna take the win with 40 points from Toby Goodwin with 39 points and 3rd placed Callum Thompson with 38 points. Ball winners required 33 points on a count back or better for a prize. Sunday also saw the end to the weekly 9-hole Stableford competition with the win going to Carl King with 21 points on a count back to runner up Declan Newbound.

Upcoming Events

To the week ahead we see the women hit off in a 4BBB Stableford competition and a 9 hole Stableford competition followed in the afternoon by the men’s Chicken Run, Thursday we have a Par Medley competition followed by the Overflow of the men’s Chicken Run, Friday we have the women in their KFC Chicken Run, Saturday the men and women have a Stroke competition with the Monthly Medal up for grabs plus the qualifier for the Murray Slee Knock Out, Sunday we have a Stableford Medley and not to mention our 9 hole Weekly Stableford competition. So come out and join us at the Shepparton Golf Club and as always Happy Golfing!
