Tuesday

Shepparton Golf Club saw its week of competition start Tuesday with 82 players hitting off in the Cardamone Real Estate Par Medley competition. In A Grade we saw a well-deserved win go to Trav Wayman with +3 from runner up Laurie Holland with +2. B Grade to Colin Burney with a table topping +4 from runner up Ethan Batey with +2 on a count back to Greg Martin. Ball placegetters required 0 or better for a prize while the nearest to pin on hole 12 went to Trav Wayman with 241cms.

Wednesday

Wednesday saw 52 women in the Free Agency – Tim Arnold & Choices Flooring Shepparton Par competition with A Grade going to Margaret Sneyd with +4 from runner up Robyn Woodhouse with +2 on a count back to Charmaine Snow. In B Grade Lorraine Ford had a great win with +6 from runner up Christine Hall with +5. Ball placegetters required +1 or better for a prize while in the nearest to pin in Pro Pins on hole 2 Angela McLeod took out A Grade with 122cms, B Grade Pro Pin went to Leanne Bailey with 131cms and hole 12 went to Marcia Waters with 397cms. In the women’s 9-hole Stableford Lisa McLeod secured a good win with 20 points from runner up Gayle Steers with 16 points on a count back to Faye Goodman.

Thursday

On Thursday 110 players set off in the Demeter Rural Services Stableford Medley competition. In A Grade we saw a well earnt table topping win go to Damian Drum with 44 points from runner up Lloyd Cowling with 40 points. B Grade win went to Ethan Batey with a solid 43 points from runner up Darren Hall with 40 points on a count back to Richard Lancaster. In C Grade Ern Meharry took out the win with 39 points from runner up Owen Kelly with 37 points on a count back to Peter Chalkley. Ball placegetters required 36 points on a count back to claim a prize while in the nearest to pins hole 12 and A Grade Pro Pin was taken out by Mark Jones with 133cms, B Grade Pro pin went to Mike Hall with 682cms, Sam McKenna claimed C Grade Pro Pin with 640cms and hole 17 went to Greg Pearson with 102cms. Thursday saw the finish of the men’s KFC Chicken Run with the competition resulting in a nail biter finish with the win eventually going to Greg Bennett with 22 points on a count back to runner up Dean Toy, Brendan Lott, Steve Tonks, Will Mathers, Paul Rossiter and Paul Morris. Ball placegetters required 19 points on a count back or better for a prize.

Friday

On Friday 38 women hit off in the mornings KFC Chicken Run with another close contest finishing in the win going to Pauline Doonan with 20 points on a count back to runner up Lisa McLeod and Kaye Hillis. Ball placegetters required 19 points on a count back or better for a prize while the nearest to pin on hole 12 went to Janet Gill Kirkmanwith 800cms.

Saturday

Saturday brought together a great field of 185 players for the Neoclo Par competitions. In the women’s competition Dianne McMinn secured a great win with +7 from runner up Marcia Waters with +5. In the men’s A Grade competition we saw Mark Mullins take out the win with +5 from runner up Michael Hand with +3. B Grade saw a great battle with the win going to Denis Cathie with +6 on a count back to runner up Isaac Lacey. C Grade saw a big win go to Wayne Ford with +8 from runner up Ethan Batey with +6. Ball winners in the women’s competition required +3 or better for a prize while the men required +2 on a count back or better to take home a prize. Nearest to pin on hole 2 went to Ron Nicholls with 121cms, Hole 5 and A Grade Pro Pin went to Peter Cardamone with 107cms, B Grade Pro Pin went to Bruce O’Connor with 313cms, C Grade Pro Pin was taken out by Gary Hallum with 218cms, hole 12 went to Dianne McMinn with 246cms and hole 17 went to Peter Lloyd with a very close 70cms.

Sunday

Sunday saw 29 players in the Stableford Medley competition with the win going to Alexander Georgopoulos with 43 points from runner up Ethan Batey with 42 points on a count back to Tom Davey while Ball winners required 36 points on a count back or better to claim a prize. Sunday also saw the finish of the 9 hole competition with the win going to Shannon Clark with 20 points from runner up Samuel Dunbar with 19 points on a count back to Graeme Sidebottom.

Upcoming Events

To the week ahead we see the women take to the fairways for 18- and 9-hole Stableford competitions followed in the afternoon by the start of the men’s Chicken Run. Thursday, we have a Stableford Medley followed in the afternoon with the completion of the men’s overflow of the Chicken Run. Friday the women take to the course for their Chicken Run, Saturday we see our busiest competition of the week with a Stableford competition for both the men and women, Sunday has a Stableford Medley, Monday has an Australia Day Gentsomes and Stableford Medley overflow competition and not to forget our weekly 9-hole competition. So come a see us at the Shepparton Golf Club and as always Happy Golfing!
